2003 SEASON :::
MORE RACING NEWS
Quick Update...
Well it seems Christmas came a little bit early for everyone associated with Pratt and Miller this year. For next season, we will be running on Michelin tires, and I know that all of us are looking forward to learning more about what our car will be able to do. They have an incredible amount of knowledge about our type of racing, and their record certainly speaks for itself. Also, their involvement in F-1 means that they are working aggressively to make the best racing tires, and Im sure a lot of what they learn there will filter on down to us.
I last raced on Michelins when I was with Panoz, and really, they always gave an incredible tire. During the 24 hour race at Le Mans in 2000, I actually did a triple stint, and though I doubt that is something we will be able to accomplish with the Corvette, the promise of doing a double stint certainly is attractive. Of course there will be a fair amount of testing we need to do, but I know that all of us are looking forward to it.
Finally, I think it needs to be pointed out that everyone at Goodyear has always pushed hard to give us a great tire. From my first race in the Corvette at Daytona in 2001, to the Petit Le Mans this year, they were always working hard to give us the best and latest that they have. We shared many victories and championships together, and none of that would have been possible without their complete dedication.
So good news for all Corvette fans, and bad news for anyone wanting to do battle with us. Next season
were going to be tough.
