MORE RACING NEWS

Now a lot of you know that I am also given a bunch of tickets by Road Atlanta to sell. The proceeds from the ticket sales go to a place called the Guest House, a local charity that helps seniors that have alzheimers and their families. Should you be interested in getting your tickets for Petit through me, and thus benefiting a local charity, just leave a note in the guestbook section, and I will get back with you on details.

Petit Le Mans Charity Auction:

At just about every race this season, someone has come up to me and asked if I was going to be doing the charity auction at Petit Le Mans again. Well the answer to that is yes !! Of course I am !!! The idea had come to me last year to do the auction, and have the proceeds from it go to that Alzheimers Association. My father had alzheimers, and I learned a whole lot about it. I can’t think of a worse thing to happen to someone, or their family. Anyway, a worthy cause to say the least. Unfortunately, September 11th happened and I sent the proceeds to the September 11th fund. We did raise some money in conjunction with Road Atlanta for a local Senior Citizen day care center that helps those that have alzheimers. But I would still like to raise some money for the Alzheimers association to help find a cure. So lets hope that this years auction will be even bigger.

Like last year, the auction will be held on Friday night, at about 6 PM. It will probably be next to a big tent that GM is going to have there. Once again a lot of cool items will be auctioned, similar to last year. I know that all of the Corvette drivers will be donating items. I will be donating my suit that I wore at Sebring and Le Mans this year, as well as the helmet that I wore when we won Daytona last year. I am guessing that you can count on similar type things from other drivers.

To make it more fun, I have arranged for the Hawaiian tropic girls to be there, so bring a camera. Even more impressive than them, however, are the Corvette girls. But be careful around them as one of them is a World Champion in martial arts !!! It should be fun.

I hope that all of you that are going to Petit will attend the auction, and have a great time bidding on things that you might otherwise not be able to get. See you there….
